Update

Hi there

Just a wee note to let y'all know that we have reached our goal of raising in excess of $300 for the RSPCA, "all creatures great an small". In fact we scored $451 on the sponsor tally which gives us #1 position for the Geelong event and would position us at #12 for the state of Vistoria. Not bad at all, we think. Together with our own contribution that's nearly $500 that we have raised for some less fortunate doggies.

Thank you again to all our sponsors and Team Dales of Geelong, it wouldn't have been possible without you.

An extra big Thank You goes to Dexter and Digger as they have contributed with the largest amount of $$$. You guys (and your mum Miranda) rock!

Love y'all,

INKY and MOLLY

Thank You

Hi all, it's Molly here.

I checked our finances today and I thought I'd just give you an update on our Million Paws sponsor tally. So far we have raised a fantastic $240! A big sloppy "Thank You" goes to all our friends and sponsors for your support in the quest of raising money for the less fortunate doggies (and moggies) of the land.

We still have another week to raise our tally. So for those of you who have mentioned that you will get the purse out for this cause, but haven't had the time to do so yet, here is the link

Would love to see that figure to go up to $300.

Let's do it friends!

Autumn Fun

Hi all, it's Inky here.

I must tell you, I love autumn (why is there an "n" at the end of autumn??)

It's a primal thing for me that I cannot explain. Airedale = Autumn Fun, just is.

The air is crisp, the stinking hot summer days are well and truly over (thank Dog), my tongue doesn't grow quite as much as we go down the local river and explore.

So here is me scooting along...

Then I "snap-sample"...

Yes, I eat those leafs. They are the best. Very tasty indeed. When I was a wee tucker I used to snap-sample all sorts of leafs, kinda cataloging them in the memory bank.
You can tell I'm a clever Dale, can't you. However, over the years (two) my taste buds have refined so since I have discovered this culinary delight I will only settle for the best. Unfortunately I don't know what this shrub is called so I cannot utter my desire and have to drag the pinkie (literally) to the places of my choosing, and I will not stop pulling my head off until I've got myself in a good position to gorge ...

Then I have a good look to see if there are any possums today (and if there were, I would pull the pinkie even more)...

But no poss poss today, so the pinkie can rest the joints.

Back at home, it's snuggle up time with the fire on as the sun settles early in the window behind me.

Ahhhhh, I love autumnnnnnn...

Doing it for the dogs

We did it!!!

Here is team Dales of Geelong:

Inky Pup

Mongel Bear aka Molly

the very funny Max

Pekoe (isn't she beautiful)

Lili (sniffing Pekoe's butt)

Roxy (crazy and beautiful, a dalish combination)

the delightful Winnie

Georgia (who is Inky's sister, from the same litter and who, by coincidence, lives in the next suburb)

Georgia's sister Adelaide whom she lives with was also there but was too busy to attend the photo shoot.

We also had "Bima" a beautiful blonde Airegirl support team Dales of Geelong, however, she had another group she was there with so there's no piccie of her either.

As a special guest we had the very smart and fit (a good combination, they say) Ruby attend. She is a Brittany dog and came down from Melbourne to be there with us.

After about an hour and a half of talking, sniffing and marking the team's surrounds it was time to get going...

and drop some quality smelly deliveries to wake the pinkies up...

We completed the lap around the park (about 2km), claimed our certificate of achievement , had a quick look around the event stage and then it was off to the cafe with our little group to sit in the sun and grab some nosh...

We said good bye to our friends in Geelong and then it was off to Melbourne (about 1 hr's drive away) to raise some more funds. How could you resist us??

We finished the day off with dinner at grandma and grandpa's...

before collapsing on their kitchen floor...

We were so tired, we don't even remember the drive back or being tucked in at home...

Nigh nigh,

INKY and MOLLY

Airedale rescue

Hi, its Molly here.

Well, it's probably obvious to you by now that I am the sensible, more mature Dale around here. And as that, I get to see some pretty silly things...

Take Inky for example. Anytime she sees a body of water she just runs straight in, displaying a dalish keenness, beyond all reason.

So it happened the other day that she just bolted into the local river (with all the algae and lots of wet in there...eeerk....). In with a big splash!

But did I laugh hard when the clever little girl ended up lapping around in circles, slightly panicking, 'cause she couldn't climb back up the shore.

I just sat there, watching, feeling reassured...

So mum had to run up to provide some Airedale Rescue to the half drowned. Luckily Inky was wearing her car safety harness so she could be hauled out from above, without mum having to jump in after her. She got her boots pretty wet though, and they are not gum boots, she said.

So here is a pic of the young lass, all drenched and smelly, being told off...

Do you think she'll learn? I'll have my doubts...

Dog bless the smart Dales,

MOLLY

Happy Birthday, Grandad

Today is our grandad's birthday.

He lives in Germany, far far away.

We are sending him lots of Airelove together with our mum and dad.

Happy Birthday, Hermann!!!

INKY and MOLLY

Airemail

Today we got mail! Real mail!!!

Of course, we opened up the letter straight away...

The card inside had a picture of an Airedoggie on it...

and the message read:

"from Chester and Teddy with Love".

The card also included a cheque which mum will pay into our RSPCA Million Paws Walk sponsor account.

Thank you, Chester and Teddy. You guys rock!

A big thank you to your mum, too. She is a star!

The back of the Airedoggie card said:

"Enzo" The senior Airedale rescued [...] by the Airedale community", artwork by Jane Dingwall

The link for Enzo's story is

and the Airedale Terrier Rescue and Adoption Inc's (ATRA) website is

Thank you, the Padfields, and all the other Dale Rescue supporters out there
- the world is a better place with you guys in it!

Fuzzy feelings,

INKY and MOLLY

Inky's favourite game

Yesterday we went to play one of my favourite games. I am not sure what it is called but you have, like, a long plastic stick with a half closed spoon on one end. You get a pinkie to place a tennis ball inside the spoony bit and have them then hurl and catapult the ball way across the field.

And off the Airedales go...

Now comes my favourite bit: I run and run and run (I am usually faster than Molly), grab the ball, and then DON'T take it back to the pinkies!!
Ahhhh, you should see their faces! Elfi stomps and demands, Tim puts on the deep and "scary" voice, "INKY, give it up!" But I usually don't budge. I try my best not to drop the ball as I am trying not to laugh out loud. To lead them on, I am pretending to head back their way and just as they reach out for the ball... zoom, off I go again...

I tell ya, it's hours of fun.

I finally surrender the ball when I feel like it and when I feel that too much attention is paid to Molly as she drifts off (due to boredom following lack of her own ball contact) to other "areas of interest". I usually get a treat, too, for finally "giving it up". Works well for me...

Ciao for now,

INKY
