Hi boyz and + gals

It's Pekoe here...

I thought I'd make a guest appearance and tell y'all about our xmas in July celebrations on the weekend...

See all those bikkies on the tray and in the basket on the table there?

I helped make those! And so did my pinkie mum Maree.

We somehow missed out on the credit though because they were called "Inky and Molly's Bikkies". So I am a bit cross about that...

I may have only been there for a few hours but within that time I sampled as many (if not more) bikkies as Inky and Molly had in 2 days, so I should be given at least some credit for taste-testing, right??

As a bit of a pay-back I thought it would only be fair to send brother Max over to lift his leg on Inky and Molly's Esky...

Maaaax! Could you please?!!...

Max: Sure thing, Love. Job done. Can I go back to my ball now?

Max: Schanks!

Pekoe: Now that that is dealt with I just quickly head over to mum to tell her that, ehem, accounts have been settled...

Good girl, Pekoe, mum says.

Ha, gotcha, Ink and Moll.

So, now to the festivities...

I can see about 14 Dales and their Pinkies here.
There, I can see one of my Pinkies there on the right...

And another one there...

Ahhhh, I love getting a cuddle from Isabel...

Good stuff!

Molly: Hey Pekoe! What's going on??

You've hijacked our blog for long enough now. You better not been bad-mouthing us. Move over now...

I'm gonna show these people around...

Pekoe: Damn it!

Molly: So here is a group of us having a good run around on the common...

And here is some more action...

See that beautiful fuzz butt? That's Chester...

When I'm grown up I want to have a fuzzy butt like that, but mum says, there is not much hope. Apparently you have to be born with it and it's in the genes (whatever tht means). So I guess it's just bad luck my hair is more wavy than curly :(
But his glorious backside wasn't the only reason Chester was stealing the show.
Check out his flashing collar...

Very funky indeed. You probably can't see the little flashing light globes but let me tell you, Father Xmas would have been proud to have him pull his sleigh.

Now as my Pinkie was cuddling Chester, I couldn't help but notice the similarities.
I wonder if they share the same gene pool and how that might be possible, and why I don't have the fuzzy butt but then these two have...mmmhhhh...

Anyway, the other show stealer was this little pup here. Her name is Marley...

Isn't she beautiful?? We all thought she was an absolute darl' apart from Inky of course. You now how she gets when our pinkies dare to give somedoggie else other than her a millisecond of attention...

Inky: I don't know why they are all sooo in love with this puppy. Totally over-rated...

Nah, I won't have puppies myself, I don't think. Life is too short...

I'm better off flying solo...

Molly: Anyway, Inky. Let's move on with this blog. People might be falling asleep by now. SO where was I? Ah yes, I was showing you around the group of Dales...
So check out how much Roxy has grown!...

She's still (or even more) crazy and beautiful and we all agree that that's a perfect, dalish combination.

And our dearest friend Riley was there too. Remember Riles?...

He made the big trip from across the bay especially to hang out with us...

And his pinkie mum made us those special felted Aire-bandannas. Aren't they fantastic?...

So here we are, sporting our new Airecessories while molesting Maree for some food...

And over to the next group of pinkies for more scraps (why do they all stand around in clusters rather than just in one long line? that would be sooo much easier)...

Come on pinkies, hand down the treats!

Thanks, Fi...

Moving right along, here are Abba...

Morris (getting a cuddle)...

Stella...

And her brother Astro...

We also had Bronte (the Dale from down the road) and Dexter (whose brother Digger, a dear friend of ours sadly past away recently) make a guest appearance. However, the photographer had already packed up by then so there are no shots of them.

We had a fantastic day and loved having all our Dale friends together. The group of pinkies was rather generous and so with our bikkies and some Airedale Rescue merchandise we had for sale we raised nearly $300 so far. Thank you all dales and Pinkies, you rock!!

Needless to say that after a day of such strenuous activity and the baking-frenzy leading up to the event we passed out on the Aire-rug at home and didn't move again for a very long time...

So, do I get an award for the longest blog ever?

Love,

MOLLY

ATCV Bush Day

Hi all, it's Molly here

Once a year the Airedale Terrier Club of Victoria meets "in the bush" during winter to celebrate Dalishness.

It's held at the Sorraghan's OLDIRON kennel property. They got all burnt down during the bushfires in February and this is all that's left of their original house...

Well, as long as there is an Airedale in the picture, it can't be that bad, right?!

That is exactly the Sorraghan's spirit. They are (and we are) so happy that they were able to save all their Dales and puppies and all survive the ember attacks just so we could have our annual gathering again last Sunday and sniff plenty of butt...

So we gathered around their temporary shed accommodation (which is actually quite warm and comfortable and not "sheddy" at all)...

And of course, we tried our best to score some barbeque delights in good old Dale fashion...

And some got the drools from the sheer thought of tasty sausage...

And of course we succeeded in scoring some tasty nosh. Here is the Awesome Foursome aka myself, Inky, Max and Pekoe being served by Maree...

I made sure I got an exceptionally big piece (Maree likes me a lot)...

Then it was time to take the pinkies on a walk. Everyone, follow me...

I indeed ran off on everydoggie so dad had to hurry along his skinny legs and try and find me. Because the forest was all burnt out not that long ago though, it was quite easy to spot me, apparently...

See the blurry Dale fuzz butt in the background, well, dad saw it and called me back. Because it was a nice day I decided to listen and re-join the group...

I must say, it all looked and smelled very different from last year...

And I could not for the life of me pick up the smell of that wombat whose house I went into on this same walk a year ago, when everybody had to come back all the way and find me. Mum said that all the wombats and other wildlife got burnt too. Very sad indeed...

Well, we had a good scoot around the forest anyway, running up and down the hills...

And Inky found some water to roll in even...

And here she is, ever so happy about the fact that there is A BODY OF WATER in the forest...

One thing about those devastating bushfires is though that the forest starts its recovery almost immediately after. See all the green shoots coming through already?...

The Pinkies say that the recovery of the man-made world will take a lot longer though.

The Sorraghan's had some help putting the kennel runs back together sooner rather than later so here are our friends that were penned up for the day...

My, how Blanche and Oprah have grown...

Back at the hub Mum couldn't resist to go into the puppy pen which of course put young Inkster into a state of consternation...

And it really ticked Inky off when mum picked up this young fellah for cuddles...

So it was decided that the pupsters would be best admired from the other side of the fence. Even I went and said hello as they were merely irresistible...

Inky finally shut up when all the attention was directed to HER (what a cry baby)...

Then Pekoe alerted us with her weather forecast...

And it was time to pack up shop before the heavens opened.

We all were sound asleep while the pinkies carted us home (2hrs) and are still feeling a little bit tired today from all the mongreling around with our Dale friends.

Thank you all for a great Sunday!!

Hope to see you in Geelong on the 25th for xmas in July.

Love,

MOLLY
