Inky Update and Thank Yous

Hey pals

It's Inky here. A lot of you have been asking how I am. Well, I am ok given the circumstances. Slightly going bonkers as I am in my 5th week of nothingness but all up I must give my pinkies and their friends credit...

I have just been to The Specialist again. He is a specialist in extracting money from the pinkies. He also told us that, after having seen my new xrays (yep, had to be knocked out for that one, AGAIN), it is apparent that my bones are far from healed and that I will need another 6 weeks of nothignness.

Can you imagine???

Boy, I didn't want to go through the door there. I put the party brakes on big time. Ears down, tail in.
I knew it was going to be bad news...

"The bones have not healed yet...it needs more time...confinement...rest, rest, rest"

Anyway, I am alive, I am loved and we will battle through this together...
Thank you for all your messages of support.

I would also like to issue a special Thank You to my friends Baby Rocket Dog and Hootie.
AGES ago, they gave me this lovely card...

Isn't it a beaut? It even twinkled when I got it.

I am also overdue to say Thanks to Maggie and Mitch.

They gave us the Sweet Friends Award.

The rules:
Rule #1 - Copy image to your blog.

Rule #2. List 10 things that make you happy and try to do one today.

1. A Kong stuffed with dog sausage not containing dogs
2. Bones
3. Treatball, you push it around with your snout and out fall the treats - marvellous!
4. SCHWEINEÖHRCHEN aka pigs ears
5. swimming & mongreling on the beach (but apparently not now and not for the next 6 weeks)
6. squeaky toys
7. doing "the cat thing" (but that not right now either)
8. biting Molly in the hind leg and in general clobbering her
9. "giving one" to any pinkie that enters
10. frolicking in any body of water I come across, barking my little noggin off

Rule #3 - Tag 10 bloggers who brighten your day
(sorry, feeling a bit lazy from all the lying around I have been doing and won't link your names)

Baby & Hootie
Eric
A & A
Jake & Fergie
Bonnie
Norwood
Asta
Mischka
Butchy (and we will never forget the bright and sparkly Snickers)

Another massive Thank You goes to all the supporters of our Airedale Rescue group.

Remember when we did a fundraiser with some fabulous bikkies and then more recently with our 2010 calendars?

Well, we've just tallied up the balance sheet and are proud to report that we have raised $557.50.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible. It will be a great resource for the next Airedale in need.

Here I am posting off a cheque to the treasury of the Airedale Club of Victoria today.

We walked at absolute snail's pace about 50m to the post box on the corner (which is ok by The Specialist). it took us about half an hour return. All I wanted to do is do the Inky Zoom, but no, the only thing zooming was those snails on the way past us... Nonetheless, I got some good sniffs in and even some peemail! Keep that delicate Airedale mind stimulated...aaahhhh....

Now onto some more serious matters.

Apparently, having a broken Inky costs a bomb.
So I would like to give ourselves another plug and point out that we have some wonderful gear available through our shop

We have some badges and magnets...

and some great bowls!!

....and lots of other merchandise including T-shirts, bags and water bottles.

So please come and have a look (and a shop)! All proceeds will go straight into my leg, or rather, straight to The Specialist (and we'd hate to see him sleep out in the streets).

Speaking of those sexy looking water and din din bowls...
THANK YOU to Max and Pekoe's mum for getting us a set for xmas!!
Food and water never tasted so good.

Lots of love,
Inky

  3. Yikes Inky & Molly, we got side tracked by going to your store. Mom is eyeing the baseball caps...says she needs to "save up" for them. We are so sorry to hear you have so many more weeks to recover. We understand though cuz our daddy broke his collarbone in June and it's still not all better yet.

Congrats on the award and also thx for passing it on to us. You're sweet. It's fun seeing what makes you happy. We never heard of schweinearzin before.Mom tries to keep us kosher. (Mom:Not really.I tell them that because I don't like the smell of them!Shhhh.)

Good work on the fundraising calendars. You are quite busy for a pooch that is laidup!

  9. Ohhhh Inky.... sorry you have to go through what it looks like a TPLO? Don't worry, things WILL get better, there IS light at the end of the tunnel! Why am I so optimistic? Well because I had two TPLO's when I was 3.5 years and 4 years old. Torn one cruciate, had TPLO, first day allowed off leash after recovering from first surgery, torn the second cruciate... Now 7 years later, my knees are still the greatest. I have not limped once or even come up stiff since my surgeries 7 years ago!!!

Mum wrote about my TPLO surgeries and the rehab and recovery period on my blog a long time ago (before you guys started blogging), maybe it would offer you some comfort? I'm including the link here.

Oh and don't worry about your bones not being completely healed yet, they usually don't fuse until at least 8 weeks post-op. So you still have lots of fine! Mine healed at 12 weeks.

All the best Inkymonster, and say hi to your sweet Molly for me!

    Love nibbles,
    Miss Sunshade

  10. We are sorry to hear you have more R n R in your future - Although I am quite a relaxed terrier - I do feel for you and the lack of zoomies. We will go to the store and see if we can help your specialist get a new car - is he aiming for a Range Rover or Jaguar? When my brother Rowan was ill - every time we went to the specialist there was a fancier car parked in the car park - we think it was due to our 'support' of his clinic. Oh well, what else can you do? We like the water bowls - are there a Fox Terrier version? Are we asking too much here? Stay calm and smell the roses,

  16. Sweet Inky and Molly. We are soooooo far behind in our reading. Moma let us stay up late and try and catch up ... and look what we found! News about your recuperation (we wish it was shorter, but are glad that it continues.) And. Reason to congratulate you on your well deserved award and a surprise that you had passed it on to us.

Moma put it in a draft blog post, so that EVENTUALLY she will help us attend to it. But right now we are going to make her go to bed and tomorrow morning we will be sure to catch up with all that we've missed these past couple of weeks.

Keep healing. Know we wish you the best.
(And Moma says she wants to check out your store! Even though she's broke saving up for Our Girl's college costs. Grumble.)

    Love
    Jake and Fergi xxoo
